For starting the process go to your WordPress dashboard and head to the “Posts” from the left sub-menu and click on the “Add New” button. So let’s start to create our first post.

First, you need to type in the title of your post by clicking on the “Add Title” field, and by clicking on the “Type/to choose a block” field you can type in the text of your post.

Now let’s turn to the blocks. The essential part of the Gutenberg Editor is its blocks, as any website owner without any coding skills can create amazing pages and posts by using this editor.

By clicking on the “Plus” icon you can add different blocks and edit your post/page. Let’s see what we have here.

You can add an image to your post by clicking on the “Image” block, also you can add some different blocks, such as

  • Paragraph-for typing a text
  • Shortcode-for typing a shortcode of any post
  • Columns-for adding different types of columns

Gutenberg Block editor provides you with several blocks. If you want to find them all just click on the “Browse All” button. On the right side, all blocks suggested by the Gutenberg Block editor appear. If you exactly know which block you need you can just type in its name on the “Search bar“.

Creating and designing the page/post has never been this much easy. The Classic editor is more complicated than the Gutenberg Block editor so to use Classic Editor you should have some coding skills. So if you have coding skills and want to create a page/post with code you can just install the Classic Editor.

So first let’s install the plugin and understand how it works.



2. Classic Editor

As the Classic Editor is now a plugin, let’s start with installing and activating the plugin.

Step 1

WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add New

Go to your WordPress dashboard head to the “Plugins” from the left sub-menu and click on the “Add New” button. As the Classic editor is a free plugin so on the left search bar just type in its name and search for it. After finding the plugin click on the “Install” button and wait till it changes to activate and click on the “Activate” button. Now as this plugin is already activated by adding a new page/post the Gutenberg Block editor doesn’t work as a default option.

Posts > Add New

Now from the WordPress Dashboard find the “Posts” button from the left sub-menu and click on the “New Post” button. Here you can see the “Title field” so just type in the title of your post and continue with your post.

You can see a large field for adding text to your post. Besides the text, you can also add headings, and tables, insert some shortcodes, links, images, and so on.

As I mentioned above this plugin is just for those who have coding skills, so in the right corner, you can see two buttons-Visual and Text. By clicking on the “Visual” button your common post appears.

Also on the left side, you can see the “Add Media” button. So by clicking on it, you can upload some images, audio, and videos.

With Classic Editor, you can preview and publish the post without adding a new post and typing the shortcode as on the left side you already have the “Preview” and “Publish” buttons. All you need is just to click on them.



3. Elementor

You can add images, videos, audio, heading, columns, and just all you need for creating a unique and perfect Contact Us, Privacy policy, About Us, and many other pages.

Now let’s turn to Posts. With Elementor you can create different post templates. Just from the WordPress left sub-menu head to the “Posts” and click on the “Add new” button. Here you can click on the “Edit with Elementor” button and start to create your post template with prominent widgets of Elementor.

So here as well by drag-and-drop system, you can add Heading, Image, Text Editor, Video, Button, Icon, Counter, and many other widgets. So the last step that you should do is to click on the “Publish” button. You can also click on the “Save Options” to choose whether to save the post as a draft by clicking on the save draft button or to save it as a template by clicking on the “Save as template” button.
